Help Your Students Win $$$ AND Support Academic Honesty!

On behalf of the Academic Integrity Implementation Committee, I’m reaching out to ask you to publicize a contest we’re running to name the Academic Integrity Initiative we’ve been working on.   

 This semester we are hosting a contest to name the Academic Integrity information campaign and want your students’ creative ideas for a tagline that the College can use when communicating the importance of honesty in all academic endeavors. The caption selected for the campaign will be used in advertising, publicity and informational materials for the College’s Academic Integrity initiative, slated to start this fall.

 The first prize is a $1500 award that can be used towards tuition as well as in our bookstore. There will also be two $500 prizes awarded.

Students should submit their ideas to academicintegrity@cod.edu

As you are getting your Fall classes together, please consider announcing this contest on the first day of class – you might find it is an excellent segue into discussing your plagiarism policies, student honesty, and academic integrity in general.

Library Runway Unconventional Challenge!

 

Attention all Designers & Non-Designers!

I have attached the Submission Guidelines and the Registration Form for the Library Runway Unconventional Challenge! If someone is interested in participating, they should get the Registration Form back to me A.S.A.P. as I am working on a program for the event this Saturday. The Registration Form includes the library’s fax number.

 The good news is you don’t have to sew the entire garment. Participants are allowed to use base garments on which to build their final product.

 Please feel free to call me back if you have any questions or send an email with students who wish to participate.

College Fairs Happening Next Week!

College Fair Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 Noon to 2 p.m. Lower level walkway next to the COD Bookstore All students are invited to visit with up to 70 two- and four-year public and private colleges and universities at College of DuPage. State University Transfer Day Wednesday, Feb. 22 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Student Services Center (SSC), Atrium Representatives from all 12 Illinois state universities will speak with students and community members during this free event. COD graduates with associate’s degrees and students working on their degrees will learn about transfer opportunities, while prospective students can find out how earning a degree at COD can help them transfer easily to a state university.
